Who Is The Oldest Living Man In The World?

According to LongeviQuest, a world-renowned authority on longevity statistics, after the death of 114-year-old Juan Vicente Pérez Mora from Venezuela on April 2, 2024, and 112-year-old Shi Ping from China on June 29, 2024, John Tinniswood from the United Kingdom has become the world's oldest living man. Tinniswood was previously recognized as the oldest living man in the UK, and this January, he was identified as the oldest living man in Europe.

In two weeks, John Tinniswood is set to surpass the age of 112.

John Tinniswood was born on August 26, 1912, in Liverpool, Merseyside, United Kingdom. During World War II, Tinniswood's vision restricted him to an administrative role in the Royal Army Pay Corps. He met his wife at a dance in Liverpool. They got married in 1942 and had a daughter in 1943.

Before retiring in 1972, Tinniswood had a career working as an accountant at Shell and BP (British Petroleum).

After the death of 108-year-old Harry Fransman on September 25, 2020, Tinniswood became the oldest known living man in the UK. He is also the oldest living person in Merseyside, and the fourth oldest living person in the UK, following Ethel Caterham and Mary Keir from London, who prefer to remain anonymous.

Tinniswood currently resides in a nursing home in Southport, Merseyside, England.

Dr. Andrew Holmes, co-founder of the European Supercentenarian Organization, commented: "Reaching such an age and becoming the world's oldest living man is an incredible achievement. Thanks to his family, his age has been fully verified by LongeviQuest and the European Supercentenarian Organization."

John Tinniswood's core advice for maintaining good health is "everything in moderation" - if you eat too much, drink too much, walk too much, or overwork, it will ultimately affect your health.

John Tinniswood's lifestyle includes the following:

  1. Does not smoke, drinks alcohol very rarely;
  2. Lives a regular and routine life;
  3. Lives in a positive environment;
  4. Maintains moderate exercise;
  5. Keeps his mind actively engaged.
