Omega-3 fatty acids are a naturally occurring fat that the human body is unable to produce. The omega-3’s that make krill oil beneficial are EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). EPA and DHA are known to promote brain and cardiovascular health, while also reducing free radical damage and supporting a healthy weight. Omega-3 fatty acids are commonly lacking in the American diet, which is why supplementation is often recommended.
